Episode 31
Th Greatest Crypto Story Never Told
Listen
Today I welcome Paul Rosenberg, cypherpunk, author and activist to talk about an unknown chapter in the liberty movement and cypherpunk history. The story of Bitcoin is inexorably intertwined with the story of the liberty and cypherpunk movements as their story, their accomplishments and their failures is what led to Bitcoin. Paul’s story is one that combined the libertarian ethos of a space for people to live in a free market and the cypherpunks that wanted to defend the already free spaces of the internet from encroaching cyber tyranny.
Today we discuss
- His background and how he became a cypherpunk
- Laissez-Faire City
- Encrypted Webmail – Mailvault
- Bitcoin’s Origins
- Virtual Nations
- Online Law
